  • No, our system is not strictly a license plate recognition camera.

    ALPR cameras, like those used on toll roads, are "black boxes," which means there is nothing the operator can do to improve how they read vehicles and plates, nor can operators customize them to perform in challenging environments. They’re brittle, expensive (~$6,500 each), and static. It takes the same image today that it did ten years ago.

  • Our technology has been designed to work effectively in various lighting conditions and weather situations. Our machine learning algorithms are trained on a diverse dataset that includes images captured in different environments. This ensures that Orion can recognize and process vehicle data accurately and consistently, regardless of the external conditions. In addition, our continuous improvement loop and over-the-air updates enable us to keep refining Orion's performance under challenging circumstances.

  • At Metropolis, we take data privacy and security very seriously. Orion captures vehicle data in a manner that aims to comply with all applicable data protection regulations.
